22 April 2014, 18 Uhr. Noch eine letzte Runde auf der Baustelle. 

Einige der Arbeiter sind immer noch am arbeiten, da es zu dieser Zeit nicht mehr so heiß ist. Wobei andere „ die Maurerer“, nach dem extrem langen Thai Neujahrsfest nicht mehr zurück gekommen sind.

Es sieht so aus, als ob es heute wieder einen sehr schönen Sonnenuntergang gibt. 

Perfektes Timing für einen Sunset Drink im Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort, welches nur etwa 500 Meter von der Swiss Paradise Villa entfernt ist.

22 April 2014, 6 pm. One last round at the construction site.

Some workers are still here, because it’s not as hot now as during the daytime. But the team which is supposed to finish the walls didn't come back from the Thai New Year celebrations.

 It looks like it’s going to be once again a nice sunset.

Perfect timing to go down to the Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort for a sunset drink. The Centara Resort is only 500 meters away from the Swiss Paradise Villa.

And I say to myself. Don’t worry be happy!

In Pattaya wird bis am 19 April immer noch das Thailändische Neue Jahr gefeiert. 

Auf der Baustelle ist wie erwartet niemand am arbeiten.

Dafür habe ich wieder einmal genug Zeit für mich, um die Bilderrahmen für die Gästezimmer fertig zu machen.

Unser kleines Boutique Hotel soll ja auch einen persönlichen Eindruck reflektieren.

The Thai New Year or “Songkran” celebrations are still in full swing for 24 more hours right here in Pattaya.

No one is working on the construction site. OK, just as expected!

Once again, I take the time to do some homework, and to finish the picture frames for the Guest Room decoration of the Swiss Paradise Villa.

Our small boutique hotel is supposed to reflect a personal touch.

Der Erste Monsunregen, kurz, kräftig und dann wieder blauer Himmel.

Die  Entwässerung  / Kanalisation ist innert Minuten voll, und überläuft.

Die Straßen werden in kürze zum Bach.

Aber schon nach ein par Minuten scheint die Sonne wieder.

Rain in Paradise

The first monsoon rains, short, strong, and then again a blue sky.

The street drainage / sewage system is full within minutes, and overflows.

The roads are soon like a stream.

And only after a few minutes the sun is shining again.

It’s getting crowded around the house where we live.

Swiss Paradise Villa - Pool ( 6 April )

Das Schwimmbecken muss noch etwas warten.

Während die Chinesische Mauer sich über eine Distanz von 2400 Km erstreckt,  ist unsere Mauer kein vergleich und nur 24 Meter lang, nimmt aber auch viel Zeit in Anspruch.

Daher das Erdgeschoss des Gebäudes 1,5 m über der natürlichen Umgebung steht, mussten die Ersten 1,5 meter der Mauer mit Eisen armiertem Beton errichtet werden um sicher zu sein, dass die Mauer den Druck von innen widerstehen kann.

Die nächsten zwei meter darüber, werden dann mit Mauer-steinen fertiggestellt.

(Wenn auch nur langsam, aber es geht vorwärts).

While the Great Wall of China stretches over a distance of 2400 Km.

Our wall by comparison is only 24 meters long but also takes time to be build.

Because the ground level of our building stands 1.5 meters above the natural /surrounding ground level. Therefore the first 1.5 meters of the wall has to be build with iron reinforced concrete to ensure that the wall can withhold the pressure from within.

The next two meters in height are then build with bricks.

Ich bin mir sicher, dass wir in der neuen Swiss Paradise Villa keinen Platz für ein “Fließband“ aus der Küche ins Restaurant haben werden. Aber wer die Japanische Küche kennt oder mal versuchen möchte, dann kann ich unter anderem das Shabu – Shui empfehlen.
Sushi – Sashimi – Tempura und Shabu-Shabu zum 

Preis von 349.- Baht (nur ca. 7.8 Euro) pro Person.

I am sure we won’t have the space for a "conveyor belt" from the kitchen to the restaurant in the new Swiss Paradise Villa.

But for those who know Japanese food or would like to try it, then I can recommend Shabu - Shui .

Buffet style: Sushi - Sashimi - Tempura and Shabu-shabu all at the price of 

only 349 Baht (about 7.8 Euro) per person.

Am lokalen Blumenmarkt gibt es nur ein Anbieter, der gelegentlich wilde Orchideen verkauft. Sie kommen aus dem Wald und Dschungel von Thailand, Laos und Kambodscha. Nicht viele Leute kaufen sie, wenn sie verfügbar sind. Weil, sie keine Blüten haben wenn sie verkauft werden und nicht besonders atraktiv aussehen.

Aber, wenn sie Blumen / Blüten haben!

Wow, was für eine Überraschung. Absolutely beautiful!

Zu Beginn des Videos sind einige der wilden Orchideen zu sehen, 

so wie ich sie vorbereitet habe.

At the local flower market there is only one vendor who sells occasionally wild orchids. They come from the forest and jungle of Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. Not many people buy them if they are available, because when they are sold they don’t have blossoms and don’t look special.

But once they have flowers / blossoms!

 WOW, what a surprise. Absolutely beautiful!

   At the beginning of this video you will see some of the wild orchids as I prepared them.

In the second part are some pictures of wild orchids in their full glory. “Enjoy”

Swiss Paradise Villa / Week 38

 Woche 38 > 26 March – 2 April

Letzte Woche begann wirklich grandios.

Ich zählte etwa 16 Mitarbeiter auf der Baustelle,

um verschiedene Aufgaben zu erledigen.

Heute Morgen waren es noch 6.

2 sind dabei die Dachkonstruktion zu errichten,

und 4 um die Außenwand zu verputzen.

Und der Rest? Kommt vielleicht morgen oder übermorgen wieder.

Es ist unglaublich aber wahr.

Zusammenfassung: Wir machen Fortschritte, aber langsam.

Week 38 > 26 March – 2 April.

Last week started off really terrific.

I counted about 16 workers on site to complete various tasks.

This morning there were 6.

2 doing the roof structure and 4 doing the exterior wall finishing.

And the rest? Maybe they come back tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

It is unbelievable but true.

Summary: We are making progress, but slowly.

Die Fertigstellung des Schwimmbecken wurde bis auf weiteres auf ”Eis” gelegt. Nach einer Inspektion der Mauer Sanierung für die äußere Mauer (alte Mauer) hatten wir aufgrund des Alters und schlechten Zustand beschlossen, alle vorhandenen Säulen auszugraben und sie neu zu errichten. Diese Arbeit ist nun abgeschlossen 

und das Neue Fundament und die Mauer kann nun gebaut werden.

The completion of the swimming pool has been put on hold for the time being. After an inspection of the footing for the outer wall (old wall) we decided to dig out all of the existing pillars and to build them new due to the age and poor condition of the foundation. 

This work is now complete and the new foundation and wall can now be build.

habe ich es nicht geschafft, und blib  einfach am Strand. 
Und so war der Sonnenuntergang heute Abend.

Didn’t  miss anything!

I wanted totake these photographs of the sunset tonight far above from the 27 floor of the
Markland Hotel. But I didn't make it in time because of traffic congestion and
parking problems, therefore I stayed on the beach.

And this was the sunset this evening.

Gute Nachrichten! Wir machen Fortschritte.

Das Eisen für die Dachkonstruktion ist endlich geliefert worden, sowie die Dachziegel.

Einige Arbeiter sind jetzt dabei das Dachgerüst zu bauen.

Ein neues Team von Elektrikern ist auch hier, um die elektrischen Leitungen zu legen.

Ca. acht Arbeiter kamen gestern um die Wände zu beenden.

Eine weitere Mannschaft kommt morgen für die Fliesen-Arbeit.

Good news! We make progress.

The iron for the roof structure has finally been delivered,

as well as the roof tiles. And some workers are now in the progress to build 

the structure for the roof.

A new team of electricians are here to complete all the outstanding electrical work.

About eight workers came yesterday to complete the walls.

One more team will come tomorrow to do the tiling work.

Wall Design

So, ungefähr wird die Aussenmauer der Swiss Paradise Villa entstehen / aussehen.

Weiße Rahmen mit Goldfarbe beschmückt, innen mit schwarzen Mosaiksteinen gefüllt.

Den ersten Entwurf habe ich von Hand gezeichnet. Den zweiten mit MS Office Publischer, der Dritte solle etwa so gebaut werden. Wobei ich die Details der „Thaiskulpturen“ noch verfeinern werde.  Die Innenseite der Mauer, oder von der adern Seite gesehen die Mauer hinter dem Swimmingpool wird mit Hunderten von Orchideen beschmückt werden.

The outer wall of the Swiss Paradise Villa will eventually look like this.

White frames decorated with gold colour.  Inside filled with black mosaic stones.

I've drawn the first draft of this design by hand. The second with MS Office Publisher, the third will be the actual wall. I will still refine the details of the Thai deign / sculptures.  The other side of the wall, or the view as seen from the restaurant over the swimming pool this side of the wall will be decorated with hundreds of Orchids.

Week 36

Swiss Paradise Villa - Woche 36 > 12 – 18 März.

Wow, was für eine Woche das war!

Meine Kamera hat aufgegeben. (Alterserscheinungen)

Ich hatte einen Kurzschluss in meinem PC.

Und auf der Baustelle!

Der Fortschritt geht weiter, aber langsam.

Von den 5 Arbeiter, die die Wände beenden sollten, sind nur 3 tatsächlich gekommen.

Den Elektriker haben wir seit den letzten 5 Tagen nicht mehr gesehen.

Ein neues Elektriker team wird am Montag weitermachen. 

Das Material um das Dach zu bauen, sollte vor zwei Wochen geliefert werden. 

(Kommt vielleicht nächste Woche).

 Aber mir wurde gesagt, dass nächste Woche …………

Schlussfolgerung: Die Fertigstellung des Projekts wird für mindestens zwei 

Monate verzögert werden.

Ein Eröffnungstermin wurde zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch nicht festgesetzt.

Swiss Paradise Villa - Week 36> 12 – 18 März.

Wow! What a week it was.

My camera gave up on me.

I had a short circuit in my computer

And on site! Progress continues to be slow.

From the 5 worker who should finish the walls, only 3 actually came.

We have not seen the electricians for the past 5 days.

A new electrician team will take over on Monday.

The material to build the roof should have been delivered two weeks ago. 

(Maybe next week).

But next week, so I was told that next week …….

Conclusion: The project completion will be delayed by at least two months. An opening date has not been set at this point in time.

Swiss Paradise Villa - Week 35

Swiss Paradise Villa - Week 35 > 5 – 11 März.

Habe während Woche 35 aufgrund eines Mangels an Arbeitskräften leider 

keine großen Fortschritte zu melden.

Allerdings sind vorgestern fünf weitere Arbeiter gekommen um die restlichen Mauern 

fertig zu stellen.

Anderseits machen wir Fortschritt, und die folgende Einrichtung  / Möbel sind bestellt.

Teakholzmöbel für die Gästezimmer werden ca. 800 Kilometer von hier in der Nähe von Chiang Mai auf Bestellung angefertigt und sind auf Stand-by für die Lieferung.

Sie umfassen.

Türen für die Gästezimmer und Türen zum Badezimmer.

Betten, Nachttische, Schrank, Make-up Tische, Kaffeetische und Pool-Liegen.

Sonstiges: Bereit für Lieferung sind. Grosse weiße Porzellan fließen für die Gästezimmer, und Grau-schwarze schiefer platten für das Restaurant.

Klimaanlagen, Deckenventilatoren, Flach / Plasma -TV, Kühlschränke, Elektro- Safes.

Stühle und Tische für das Restaurant (Dunkles Eichen Holz mit weißem Marmor platte).

Week 35 > 5 – 11 March

Unfortunately not much progress to report during week 35 due to a shortage of workers. However, five more workers are now on site to finish the remaining walls.

On the other hand the following items have been ordered.

Teak-wood furniture’s for the guestrooms are being made to order near Chiang Mai approx. 800 Km from here and are on standby for delivery.

They include.

Doors for guestrooms and bathroom doors.

Beds, night tables, closet, makeup tables, coffee tables and pool deck chairs

Others: Ready to be delivered.

Air-conditioner, Ceiling Fans, Flat TV, Refrigerators, Electronic Safety Boxes.
